 Re: Dogs of the Monon
Less than two weeks ago I was riding north on the Monon with a friend. Animal control was out picking up a stray dog somewhere around 23rd street, I think. I know it was near the railroad tracks and where that shed is with the pipes painted on it.
But he did mention he was only picking up A stray dog...

 Re: Dogs of the Monon
today there were a ton of dogs on the big sand and garbage piles at 28th and the Monon. probably 8 or so. some of them looked like monsters.

 Re: Dogs of the Monon
I had a problem yesterday. 2 dogs maybe mid 40s on cruiser bikes blocking both lanes. On had a nice thick blonde coat, and the other a shorter darker red dyed coat. Both looked like monsters, I reported it to animal control.
ps- I just ate 2 chicken burritos from doba in one sitting, NO BIG DEAL.

 Re: Dogs of the Monon
I was attacked by a pack of pitbulls about a month ago between 22nd and 16th or so...it was terrifying. im a huge animal lover and was so pumped to see some stray dogs on the monon for some entertainment..but they were crazy dogs. ive been scared of the monon ever since
any ideas for an alternate route downtown? i live on college and 48th..

any ideas for an alternate route downtown? i live on college and 48th.. take 46th over to Central. Central all the way downtown. you can take Delaware/Washington north to get back home. a few of us ride that route all the time to get back and forth from downtown. traffic is pr' light, too.

 Re: Dogs of the Monon
Holy crap. I didn't realize the monon was plagued with packs of ravenous dogs and suicidal cats.
According to the Star sometime last month, the average animal control response time is 23hrs. So...good luck with calling it in. But maybe all the time they spend on the monon is leeching time away from the rest of downtown hah

 Re: Dogs of the Monon
Check this story out: http://www.fox59.com/pages/landing_news ... name269717The story is more or less the same experience I had with Animal Control a few weeks ago. I called to report two strays in my neighborhood. One of the strays was actively chasing people on the Monon. You call Animal Control and get a recording telling you to call the Mayors Action Center. The Mayors Action Center then gives you a dead-end recording as well, telling you to use the IndyGov website to submit your problem. So instead, you call the cops. The non-emergency operator will tell you to call either of the above. You're screwed if you're trying to get a reasonable response any time after 5pm or on a week-end.
